2023 APCO BESS Blanket Contract RFP

Appalachian Power Company, an American Electric Power company, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to prepare for a possible future, multi-year blanket purchase agreement, which would contain standard catalog items at designated sizes. The scope would be the manufacture, delivery, off-load and assembly of portions of BESS installations including Batteries, Inverters, MV Transformer, and/or Site Controllers in support of the Virginia Clean Economy Act and to further diversify its electric generation mix.

Appalachian Power Company encourages the use of local goods or services sourced, in whole or in part, from one or more Virginia-based businesses in the construction and/or operation of the project or United States-based manufacturers using materials or product components made in Virginia or the United States.

The RFP event will be launched within the online Ariba Sourcing platform. The instructions for Ariba registration are within the Documents section below. Bidders should communicate an interest in bidding the project and confirm Ariba registration by emailing the Ariba AN Id# to APCoEnergyStorageRFP@aep.com. Once registration has been confirmed, bidders will receive an invitation to the RFP event.
