Energy Provider RFPs

Appalachian Power (APCo), an American Electric Power company, is pursuing additional wind and solar generation resources and renewable energy certificates, via the following requests for proposals (RFPs). APCo plans to issue a separate RFP for Virginia-sited standalone battery energy storage resources in Q3/Q4 of 2026.

2026 APCo PSA, PPA, and REC RFPs - Proposals Due July 15, 2026

The company is seeking bids for the following: Up to 800 MW of wind and/or solar resources via one or more purchase and sale agreements (PSAs); up to 300 MW of wind, solar, and/or hydro resources via one or more long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs); and renewable energy certificates (RECs) produced from eligible renewable resources.
