2022 APCO West Virginia Solar Energy RFP

Appalachian Power Company, an American Electric Power company, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to obtain up to 150 megawatts (MW) of solar energy projects in West Virginia in support of the WV Senate Bill 583 and to further diversify its electric generation mix.

Proposals will be evaluated based on criteria outlined in the RFP. To qualify for consideration, projects must be located within the State of West Virginia and be interconnected to the PJM Interconnection L.L.C. RTO. In addition, projects must have a minimum size of 50 MW and be operational by December 15, 2024 or December 15, 2025. Proposals may include the option of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

Appalachian Power Company encourages the use of local goods or services sourced, in whole or in part, from one or more West Virginia-based businesses in the construction and/or operation of the Project or United States-based manufacturers using materials or product components made in West Virginia or the United States.

Proposals are due March 31, 2022.
