COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 12, 2010 – American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) is seeking offers for the supply of Powder River Basin coal to one or more of its generating stations.

AEP is seeking spot-coal delivery proposals for up to 3 million tons of Powder River Basin coal per year, delivered by rail, beginning either Jan. 1, 2011 or Jan. 1, 2012 for a period of one year. AEP is open to alternative pricing structures or other innovative, value-added concepts. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted. Actual accepted bids will be at AEP’s discretion.
