Southwest Virginia is a dental desert, with only 29 dentists for every 100,000 residents. Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Charities is working to expand access to affordable, much-needed dental care across the region. Recognizing the organization’s impact, Appalachian Power provided funding through the APCo Foundation to help purchase dental equipment for seven new treatment rooms currently under construction.
