Bluefield-area employees donate 30 pallets of water to support local families

October 22, 2026

Bluefield-area transmission employees recently donated 30 pallets of bottled water to Lifeline Church in Princeton, West Virginia, helping support families and individuals across southern West Virginia and Southwest Virginia.

After identifying an opportunity to support local families, Dalton C., transmission line crew supervisor, and Nathan W., engineering technologist senior, contacted Scott J., external affairs manager, to coordinate the donation of the bottled water to Operation Lifeline, the church’s food pantry.

"Being customer focused means more than delivering reliable service. It means being an active partner in the communities we serve," said Dalton. “We value the opportunity to give back and strengthen the relationships that make our communities stronger.”

According to Lifeline Church, the vision of Operation Lifeline is that no person or family in need is ever turned away. Volunteers work to ensure individuals leave with the food and supplies they need, making the organization an invaluable resource for many local families. The organization assists more than 500 families each month.

At Appalachian Power, serving customers goes beyond delivering electricity. Through community involvement, charitable support and partnerships with local organizations, employees are proud to help strengthen the communities and improve the quality of life across the region they serve.
