Appalachian Power has awarded more than $48,000 in grants to teachers, schools and robotics clubs across West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee. Nearly $6,000 in Teacher Vision Grants went to educators for classroom projects. Another $42,000 went to schools and clubs for use with the FIRST robotics program.

Appalachian Power, Wheeling Power file for adjustment in recovery rates for fuel costs, vegetation management and energy efficiency programs

Appalachian Power, along with Wheeling Power, today submitted Expanded Net Energy Cost (ENEC) and Vegetation Management Program (VMP) filings to the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC). The company is requesting an increase of $73 million in the amount collected for ENEC, and a continuation of the current VMP rates, to take effect Sept. 1.

Appalachian Power, along with Wheeling Power, today submitted Expanded Net Energy Cost (ENEC) and Vegetation Management Program (VMP) filings to the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC). Appalachian Power plans upgrades in Henry County

Appalachian Power plans to rebuild approximately 15 miles of transmission line in Henry County to increase reliability to customers. The Fieldale – Ridgeway Transmission Line Rebuild Project involves upgrading equipment that resulted in multiple service interruptions for customers south of Fieldale down to the Virginia-North Carolina border, and east of Ridgeway toward Sandy Level. The company plans to seek approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission later this year. If approved, construction is expected to start in fall 2023 and last about two years.
