I&M AND CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO GIVE AWAY TREES DURING EARTH DAY/ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

April 18, 2011

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) will partner with the City of South Bend to give away more than 300 free saplings to customers on Saturday, April 23.

The low-growing trees will be distributed between 10 am and 2 pm at Potawatomi Park in conjunction with the combined Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebration. They will be available, one per family, on a first-come, first-served basis as long as supplies last.

Low-growing trees, which are great for landscaping, were selected because they will not reach a height that could interfere with overhead utility wires or structures.

Planting trees is an excellent way to improve the environment by adding beauty to the landscape and improving air quality.
