TRAFFIC IMPACT ADVISORY -- U.S. Route 23, Lawrence County, KY, June 8

June 3, 2014

ASHLAND, KY – Kentucky Power and contractor crews will temporarily close both directions of traffic along U.S. Route 23 in Lawrence County (KY) from time to time between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Sunday, June 8.  The road closures are necessary to allow line crews to safely relocate power lines to accommodate the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s work to reroute State Route 32.

There will be a total of eight, temporary, closures between the hours mentioned and crews will work to keep all closures to 15 minutes or less. Traffic will flow normally between closures. The closures will occur between mile points 16.8 and 16.9 at the U.S. Route 23 crossing over State Route 32.  Workers will make every effort to keep traffic closures as brief as possible.

In the event of inclement weather, this project will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 22.

Kentucky Power has notified highway officials, law enforcement agencies and local authorities of the road closures and obtained all necessary work-related permits.  Professional traffic control personnel will be used to manage traffic and lane closures for the duration of the project.
