Appalachian Power employees recently joined forces with CSX and Soles4Souls to support children in east Tennessee who were impacted by the lasting effects of Hurricane Helene. This initiative provided new shoes to more than 500 students—just in time for summer break.

Two team members, Jeff B. and Bryan C., volunteered their time and energy at the event. They assisted students with sizing and fitting shoes, ensuring each child left not only with a new pair but also with confidence and a sense of care.

“Getting to help these kids one-on-one and see their reactions was incredibly rewarding,” Bryan said. “It’s the kind of experience that sticks with you.”
