AEP schedules live webcast of CEO’s presentation at Deutsche Bank event

COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 9, 2005 – American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) has scheduled a live webcast of a presentation by Michael G. Morris, AEP’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, June 14 at the Deutsche Bank Securities Electric Power Conference in New York.

Morris will reaffirm AEP’s prior guidance of ongoing earnings of $2.30 to $2.50 per share for the 2005 fiscal year. His presentation to an audience of investors, scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. EDT, can be accessed through the Internet at http://www.AEP.com/go/webcast and will be available after the live event.
