BRIDGMAN, Mich., July 28, 2013 – Indiana Michigan Power’s Cook Nuclear Plant Unit 2 went off-line at 10:18 a.m. Sunday. The reactor is stable and all safety systems responded appropriately. Operators manually tripped the reactor due to the failure of a steam-supply valve that ultimately led to low feedwater flow to the Steam Generators.
Cook does not release specific return-to-service information, but shutdowns of this nature are not typically long.
