COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 20, 2011– American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) is seeking offers for the supply of IllinoisBasincoal to one or more of its generating stations.

AEPis seeking term delivery proposals for up to 3 million tons of Illinois Basin coal per year beginning Jan. 1, 2013 for a period of three or five years. AEPis open to alternative pricing structures or other innovative, value-added concepts. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted. Actual accepted bids will be at AEP’s discretion.
