West Virginia Advantage Plan
Our Advantage Plan for West Virginia solves problems and takes on economic development projects in the state with more than $1 million funding programs across the southern part of the state.
- We worked with the WV Development Office, plus regional and local economic development authorities, to certify 21 counties in southern West Virginia as AEROready to attract aerospace manufacturing. AEROready certification involves a deep analysis of property, labor, education and infrastructure to ensure a region has the capacity to support the aerospace industry. The certification process helps area economic developers determine whether to target aerospace industries and it provides those industries with a wealth of data they can use to make decisions about where to locate.
- We’re partnering with Mason County Development Authority to develop a wastewater design project in the Apple Grove area. This project is the final piece of infrastructure to make a prime industrial location in the state ready for new industry.
- We’re providing grant money to the West Virginia Development Office for the Governor’s Guaranteed Workforce Program, so it can offer training to small businesses in our region to grow their skills and their businesses.
- We’re soon to be offering grants to local economic developers for site readiness projects.
