Matt Funk Project

The Matt Funk Transmission Reinforcement Project involves the addition of new equipment in the existing Matt Funk substation and the construction of approximately five miles of new 138 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between the substation and an existing 138 kV line that runs along Poor Mountain in Virginia. The project is needed to reinforce the regional electric supply to ensure compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.

The company has identified three preliminary proposed corridors, two of which parallel existing transmission lines, and some alternative segments. The company is seeking public input on the preliminary corridors to help identify which one to seek approval to build.
