Appalachian Power plans to construct a new electric station in Campbell County near a growing load center at the Route 460 bypass and Route 29 interchange at the border of the City of Lynchburg and Campbell County. The distribution station is needed to reliably serve the nearby customers, including the Lynchburg Regional Airport. Construction is slated to start in January 2009, with an in-service date of June 2009. The total project is estimated to cost about $4.5 million.
