The WOW Factor Teachers’ Workshop
The Wetlands of Winfield is a wonderful educational opportunity. To help teachers take full advantage of all the wetlands can teach their students, Appalachian Power and Marshall University co-sponsor a workshop for educators called The Wow Factor. In this 5-day workshop, teachers of upper elementary to high school students will gain knowledge of wetlands through classroom activities and field activities in the Wetlands of Winfield. Also as part of the workshop, participants will learn how AEP produces electricity at the nearby John Amos Plant and the Winfield Hydroelectric Plant and address the future of power generation in an environmentally responsible way.
